Class of 1955: 50-Year Reunion Info.

The Loris High School Class of 1955 celebrated a 50th year Class Reunion June 4, 2005 at Hooters in North Myrtle Beach. Forty-three classmates and thirty-five guests enjoyed fellowship, delicious food, reminiscing, and renewing friendships.

Classmates attending were Joe Franklin Barnhill, Claude R. Bellamy, Billie Faye Blackburn Caines, Billy Blanton, Jeanette Blount Williams, Dennis Booth, Elton Boyd, Robert "Bob" Howell Brooks, Jimmy Butler, Annettee Carter Branton, Shirley Ann Cox, Kathleen Fowler Fipps, Harriet "Kitty" Gerald Franklin, Billly D. Gore, Gene E. Graham, Edwina Hardee Lumley, Sally Hardee Medlin, Bobby Wayne Harrelson, Betty Ann Herrington Jones, Paul Housand, Carolyn James King, Lois Jernigan Mazyck, Alceon Johnson Gore, Ethel Lee Lewis Elmore, Virginia Lewis Hedges, Donna Long Reece, Dalma Ree McCracken Tyler-Braswell, Jean McQueen Cox, Vernon Miller Medlin, James K. "Bill" O'Quinn, Frances O'Quinn Davis, Jack Parker, Hilda Paul Holt, Betty Jo Prince Tyler, Clyde Carlton Prince, Pearl Prince Brown, Helen Royals Medlin, Kenneth Sawyer, Maryann Sessions Sparrow, Joseph Cecil Stanley, Jack L. Strickland, Wayne Todd, and Pearl Tyler Shelley.

The program included a time of remembrance for the fifteen deceased classmates: Celeste Allsbrook, Janice Blount, Charlotte Ann Boyd, DeFae Boyd, Joann Carter, W. B. Dutton, Virgil Ann Lewis, L. D. Little, Rober Sarvis, Opal Stevens, June Strickland, Lester Strickland, Bobby Jean Hewett, Jimmy Vaught, and Betty Wade.

The Planning Committee for the 50th Class Reunion was Robert "Bob" Howell Brooks, Jean McQueen Cox, Harriet "kitty" Gerald Franklin, Bobby Wayne Harrelson, Virginia Lewis Hedges, Carlton Prince, Maryann Sessions Sparrow, Pearl Tyler Shelley, and Joe Cecil Stanley.

The Loris High School Class of 1955 officers were: President, Carlton Prince; Vice President, Bobby Wayne Harrelson; Secretary, Betty Wade (deceased); Treasurer, Betty Hardee Epting; and Reporter, Maryann Sessions Sparrow
